 Just returned from Scotlnd. Great visit, Beautiful country. I knew I was of scotish folk but did not know where to check it all out. But for my bit of time there I found out lots about the Turnbull's,

Enjoyed your site. Beautiful area! Visiting with my wife, Jean, in early September. If you know of a rental there in Bedrule or nearby, especially with a country view, for Sept. 3, 4, and 5, we'd be much obliged. And, yes, I assume "Trumbull" was once Turnbull, though roots or not, the area seems like a fine place to compare and contrast our native California with Scotland!

Checking our our history

I will be in Scotland from 5/11 to 5/15/11.  I am traveling with my mother, Patricia Rule Seaman.  Her father, William Rule (Turnbull), was born in Glasglow on 8/9/1895. We would like to perhaps see some family history while in Scotland, can you make any suggestions.

I had the good fortune to visit Bedrule in May of 2009.  I live in Oregon (USA), and it took me a long time to get back to my roots!  Glad to come across this site.  Great photos and text. Best of luck in developing this website.  I'll check back frequently.

I visited Bedrule on Thursday 29th April 2010. I lived best part of my childhood with my Gran at cottage number 3 from (1971 till 1980 approx).

At that time cottage 1 had Jock and Janice Palmer and their kids (i played with their daughter Adele). Jock worked at the farm. Cottage 2 had an elderly couple The Beatties, then my Grandparents Peter and Barbara Govan (my Grandpa died in Dec 1977), Mrs Kirk (a widow) lived at number 4. In the next block at cottage 5 was a racehorse trainer by the name of Leadbetter who had a nasty dog called Oscar and he too worked at stables on the farm. The Cottage at the end, before the School House had Adele's cousin Annette, who lived with her folks and Grandma. Miss Thomson (i think that was her name) lived in The School House as was a teacher.

I have oodles of memories i could share. Let me know if you wish to read/hear any of them. Bedrule was different in a good few ways to what you see now.

Yes I have been on a visit to Bedrule and have roiots in the area.

Excellent.My fathers family lived in Bedrule.My granfather Mr Glover was headgamekeeper to Lord Usher.He is buried in the church with his wife Sarah Jane McTaggert as are other memebrs of my bfathers family.

James Halliday Glover his son had a distinguished 2nd world war record as a fighter pilot who also fought in the Burma campaign .
